Learned a valuable lesson yesterday: When in doubt, do it using brute-force methods.
Was invited to compete in the Ateneo CompSat’s Programming Competition. Of course, we had thought that it was an individual thing, and so I was sent as the lone delegate.
It was a team event.
So, being the crazy individual that I am, I became the proverbial one-man team. And lost (but not without a respectable placing, mind you)
And they tell me I could have placed third. Had I actually used brute-force methods on the Homer Simpson problem. Of course, if I had team mates, they would be reminding me of that fact.
Oh well. You can’t win ‘em all.
