Some snippets of last night's conversation, while I was playing around with the Debian box (now named butiki, no relation to my home box:
Tato: Can you get IceCast on that thing?
Me: Sure, why not. Lemme apt-get it.
Tato: (looking over my shoulder) Hmm... maybe we should switch the SMS Gateway to Debian. I'd like to do that to upgrade stuff...
Me: Why not?
(After 30 minutes, setting up the Icecast2 server and stream source clients...)
Me: W00t! Dude, mag connect ka nga sa [IP of server].
Tato: (connects using WinAMP) Hmm... ba't ayaw?
Me: Grr... (looks at logs) WTF??
(Another 15 minutes. This time, Mark shows some interest)
Me: How 'bout now?
By now, Tato's girlfriend Mel has arrived, and has claimed use of his laptop. We proceed to test it on Mark's laptop. Mark connects to the server, and voila. Streaming audio via Icecast. Sweet.
We start discussing neat stuff we can do with the new Icecast server, such as providing a central repository for music for everyone in the office, putting up a web interface to the playlists...
Ah... late night skunkworks.
