I slept late (and was forced to wake up early). I had this eye-opening conversation with Matt.
I must confess, I'm not progressive-minded. I don't think in terms of change and post-modernism and all that. I guess my thinking is conventional, but at least I'm sane enough to know that. Sometimes I'm awed by the insights other people have about this friggin' crazy world we live in. I bash myself to try to think in that way— then realize that it isn't how I view the world.
Personally, I think there is a lot of crap in this world. Don't get me wrong; every philosophical thought from Plato to Sartre and what have you isn't totally bullshit. The question is, is it worth contemplating in the first place?

<FONT>tags that the LiveJournal server puts out. Of course, I have no idea if my hack works on other browsers (it works in IE5.5/Win), but I hope it does. Phew.So, this thing looks moderately good. If only I could remove the damned

When possible, never decide on your ISP without checking your other options. I'm currently on Infocom, and so far I've been having sh*t from their dialup. I regularly seem to be at a sluggish 14.4. Damn.
And I keep getting dropped. Damn.
Let this be a lesson— try before you buy. Try out the prepaid stuff, I mean. If the ISP has a good prepaid connection, the post-paid accounts usually fair a notch better.

Finally, I've downloaded the LJ Win32 client. Now for the source code...
Actually, I feel like tweaking and hacking. I've also downloaded MinGW (at least the distribution files I would need) so I can go on hack.
And by the way, today's my birthday. :P
