Someone decided to rearrange the stuff I have in my room, but that's not the worst part— he/she did an awful job. So I'm pissed. Totally pissed.

A really interesting but very weird site: Snarg.Net. Honestly, it took me some time to figure out what the site's about, or at least what I think the site's about. It's an online gallery... and a very obtuse one at that.

If you're using IE6 or NN6, my index page will look like crap. I'll fix it later. The problem has something to do with the 'quirks' mode in these standards-compliant browsers. When I find out how to fix it so I can turn quirks mode off, I'll let you know.

I'm now using Lynx for all my home browsing needs, not because I'm a masochist but because I just love to use the keyboard. How inane.

  • BTW, one thing GM has over Online Journal is the fact my pages will get indexed by search engines; CGI paths are deliberately skipped by engines as "dead ends." However, since my DR account is only 5MB in size, GM will quickly accumulate kruft (duplicate data-- both the HTML output and the entry text</a>), while Online Journal will generate output on the fly.

  • Which do you think I should use, GreyMatter, or Online Journal? I can handle both, but I have to decide which one to use. GreyMatter is relatively massive (compared to Online Journal), and GreyMatter is better used for blogs (several entries per page), and I need a one-entry-per-page script. Online Journal is simple, but quite limited (output header, output text, output footer— that's about it). GreyMatter has a good support base; Online Journal doesn't seem to have one as extensive as GM's. GM's tags are pretty obtuse; however, they are powerful. I modified the Online Journal script to parse my special tags; however, they are limited. I have to FTP entries if I use Online Journal— contrast that to simply typing it up in GM.

Asylum framework is up, and so is the version 6 layout. I'm going live with the whole site later on, probably this Wednesday. Stay tuned.
