Recent finds at Book Sale:

  • In the Beginning... Was The Command Line - Neal Stephenson. Okay, I've read this one before, online, but having a dead tree copy is worth it. Perfect for tech geeks, it narrates the development of user interfaces. (Downloadable from here, actually)
  • How The Web Was Born - James Gillies & Robert Cailliau. Not very techy— more of a layman's introduction to the history of the Internet and the World Wide Web— but from my cursory inspection of it, it is quite detailed.
  • Searching For Bobby Fischer - Fred Waitzkin. I remember watching the film version of this, a story about a real-life chess prodigy. I've always been fascinated by smart people, and even if I suck at chess, I love the game.
